How to restore IE mode to Edge Version 142.0.3595.69 (64-bit)

Until 2 weeks ago, I could use IE mode in Edge to read the books I downloaded from Bookshare. They're stored in CSS format but are only readable in IE mode, not even displaying on screen in normal Edge mode.

Now, I not only cannot find the command or icon in my Edge toolbar but can't find any of the menu commands listed in the various Microsoft Support articles. I've even tried the registry changes to no effect.

I know that this was going to eventually be deprecated, but I thought that single users wouldn't be harmed.

Any suggestions?

To restore IE mode in Microsoft Edge, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check if IE mode is enabled: Ensure that IE mode is configured properly in your Microsoft Edge settings. You can do this by accessing the Group Policy Editor and verifying that the settings for IE mode are enabled.
    2. Access the IE mode settings: Go to the Edge settings by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner, then select Settings. Look for the Default browser section and ensure that the option for Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode is enabled.
    3. Use the IE mode site list: Make sure that the site you are trying to access is included in the Enterprise Mode Site List. If it’s not, you may need to add it to ensure it opens in IE mode.
    4. Open a site in IE mode: Once everything is set up, you can right-click on the tab and select Reload tab in Internet Explorer mode. If this option is not available, it may indicate that IE mode is not properly configured.
    5. Registry changes: If you have made registry changes, double-check that they are correct and that you have restarted Edge after making these changes. Sometimes, a restart is necessary for changes to take effect.

If you continue to experience issues, consider checking for updates to Microsoft Edge or reinstalling it to ensure that all components are functioning correctly.

    Hii ,

Microsoft has temporarily disabled the Internet Explorer activation shortcut due to detected security vulnerabilities.

You can add websites to the tab.

You can still activate it manually:

    Go to edge://settings/defaultBrowser

Enable the option "Allow websites to reload in Internet Explorer mode".

Currently, you can find a post in English that explains the situation:

Give feedback if the information was useful or not.

    Thanks
