I am trying to install an in-place upgrade for windows 11 (25H2). I tried to do this yesterday and it failed during the second boot phase. After asking on this site, I determined the problem was another program interfering and am now attempting to perform the update in a clean boot. The problem is when I get to the part where it says "Installing Windows 11 your pc will restart several times. This will take a while" it fails at 55%, a point I got past with no issue yesterday. More frustrating still; windows 11 setup doesn't give any details about what went wrong. It just says the installation failed. I have been struggling with this update for more than a week. I would greatly appreciate someone who will help me with this and stick around for any follow-up questions I have.

I had a quick look the CBS logs and found that there is huge component store corruption; over 500 payloads are missing. Many users running 24H2/25H2 are facing this issue.

Please mount the Windows 11 25H2 ISO and run setup.exe. This time, skip the dynamic update process.

In the initial screen of the setup dialog, click “Change how Setup downloads updates

Select “Not right now”, and continue the process.
