How to add MS Teams license for existing GoDaddy business email account?

Hello,

I'm looking to add One (1) TEAMS license for an existing GoDaddy operated account; which is a business email. The TEAMS license will need to be for "PII REMOVED" which is a business license. I'm the owner of S&S Partners, LLC and will need this help from MS.

FYA: 50GB was the maximum with GoDaddy email capacity using TEAMS; Since I was not able to send/receive emails after 50GB, TEAMS was then dropped from the existing account to allow for email storage.

How can I get TEAMS only and get back to working with the rest of the employees?

Please assist with providing a solution to this!

To get Microsoft Teams only and start collaborating with your employees again, the best approach is to contact GoDaddy Support.

Because your Microsoft 365 subscription is provisioned and managed by GoDaddy. They control the licensing and billing for your account, so any changes, such as adding a Teams license or upgrading to a plan that includes Teams must be handled through them. This ensures the license is correctly applied and your services remain uninterrupted.

Please contact them to:

Confirm your current plan details.
Request to add a license that includes Microsoft Teams or upgrade to a plan that supports Teams.

Hello,

I reached out to GoDaddy prior to looking for MS assistance. GoDaddy representative upgraded my email from GoDaddy Business Professional (UPTO 50GB of storage with TEAMS) to GoDaddy Business Enterprise (UPTO 100GB of storage WITHOUT TEAMS); This was a must since my email already reached 52GB as we speak.

GoDaddy representative told me that only MS can assist with TEAMS after 50GB of storage. I'm not sure what to do since they do not have any available options at GoDaddy.

Would it be possible to get a new license for TEAMS only with my current email; even if I can't chat with the rest of our employees; At least i can attend meetings, calls, etc...

I appreciate any insight or options to get Teams working again!

Thank you for clarifying the situation!

Since GoDaddy upgraded your plan to Business Enterprise without Teams and confirmed they cannot add Teams back, here are alternative options you can consider:

Buy Microsoft Teams Essentials or Microsoft 365 Business Basic directly from Microsoft. (Learn more: Compare Microsoft Teams for Business Pricing | Microsoft Teams)

This will create a separate Microsoft tenant for Teams only.

You’ll still be able to use your existing email address for sign-in, but collaboration features (chat, files) will be separate from your GoDaddy-managed email.

If you want full integration (email + Teams in one tenant), moving your domain and licenses to Microsoft 365 directly is the long-term solution. This involves transferring DNS and licenses from GoDaddy to Microsoft.

If you only need meetings and calls temporarily, you can sign up for Microsoft Teams Free. This won’t integrate with your GoDaddy email, but it allows you to join meetings and collaborate quickly.

Because GoDaddy controls your current tenant, Microsoft cannot add Teams directly to that subscription. The quickest workaround is to purchase a standalone Teams plan or use Teams Free, and consider migration for a long-term fix.
