And why did you shut me off and say I don't have an account? Why is it not user friendly.

Why are there not humans that work any more?

    Hello Nancy Morris,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you’re frustrated because you have to sign in every time and don’t want Microsoft 365, you just want to use your old version of Word without these changes. I feel very sorry about this inconvenience.

You can go back to the old version of Word you like by following these steps:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps and look for your previous Office version (e.g., Office 2016 or 2019). If it’s missing, you’ll need to reinstall it using your original product key or installation media.
    2. Disable Microsoft 365 sign-in prompts
      • Open Word > File > Account > Sign out of all accounts.
      • Then go to File > Options > General and uncheck Show the Start screen when this application starts.
    3. If you prefer not to use Microsoft 365 at all
