This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again!

I can tell you what worked for me.

Wait the requested time period then sign-in. Once you gain access change the method to a password and use that for a couple of days. If there are no problems switch back to a PIN.

Hi Rohit, thanks for sharing the screenshot and details. The message means Windows has temporarily disabled PIN sign-in due to multiple failed attempts or repeated forced shutdowns. Here’s what you can do:

First, leave the device powered on and connected to the internet for at least 2 hours this allows Windows to re-enable the PIN option automatically. Second, click Sign-in options and use an alternative method like your Microsoft account password or a recovery option to log in. Third, once signed in, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and reset or remove the PIN if it continues to fail. Last, check for pending Windows updates and install them, as this issue can sometimes be linked to system updates.

If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it too.
