M365 – SharePoint Creation – ERR_TOO_MANY_REQUESTS

I recently began using the trial version of Microsoft 365 Business Basic. In an attempt to set up SharePoint, I followed the standard process by navigating to the Microsoft 365 admin portal via the URL: https://m365.cloud.microsoft. From there, I selected the SharePoint app (through the nine dots in the app launcher), which redirected me to the following page: https://m365.cloud.microsoft/launch/sharepoint.

Upon attempting to access SharePoint, I encountered the following error:

"This page isn’t working. m365.cloud.microsoft redirected you too many times. Try deleting your cookies. ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS"

I tested the process on multiple browsers, including Chrome, Safari and Mozilla Firefox, but the issue persisted across all platforms.

I cleared all cookies and cache from both browsers, but the error remained unresolved.

I attempted to access the SharePoint page while connected to different Wi-Fi networks and using different laptops. The issue persisted, ruling out network or device-specific causes.

Operating System: I am using MacOS 15.3.12.

During the Microsoft 365 account creation process, I set the account location to the United Kingdom. However, I am currently located in Spain, which could potentially be a contributing factor.

Despite trying various troubleshooting methods, the issue remains unresolved. What can be the solution for my issue?

The error message ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS typically indicates that there is a misconfiguration in the way the SharePoint site is set up or accessed. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Account Region Settings: Since you mentioned that you set the account location to the United Kingdom but are currently in Spain, ensure that your account settings reflect your current location. Sometimes, discrepancies in regional settings can lead to access issues.
    2. Use Private Browsing Mode: Try accessing SharePoint in a private or incognito window. This can help bypass any cached data or cookies that might be causing the issue.
    3. Clear Cookies and Cache Again: Although you mentioned clearing cookies and cache, ensure that you do it thoroughly. Sometimes, certain cookies may not get cleared properly. You might also want to try resetting your browser settings to default.
    4. Check for Multiple Accounts: If you have multiple Microsoft accounts, ensure that you are logged into the correct account that has access to SharePoint.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They may be able to provide insights specific to your account and configuration.
    6. Wait and Retry: Sometimes, these issues can be temporary. Waiting for a while and then trying again can also resolve the problem.

If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to investigate further with Microsoft support, especially since you are using a trial version of Microsoft 365 Business Basic.

    Hi Andrey Likhov

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum! Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the issue you're experiencing. I understand that encountering the "ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS" error when trying to access or create SharePoint in Microsoft 365 can be inconvenient and frustrating.

Based on the information I've researched, there are several cases where other users have encountered a similar situation, often related to too many redirects. You can refer to more detailed guidance here: How to access SharePoint, when getting m365.cloud.microsoft redirected you too many times ERROR?

However, for your specific case, the issue may stem from a mismatch in geographic location. For example, if your Microsoft 365 account is set up in one country (such as the United Kingdom), but you're accessing it from a different location (such as Spain), this could trigger the redirect error. In this situation, I recommend trying to enable a VPN and setting the location to match the one configured in your account. This may resolve the problem.

If the issue persists after trying the above, please raise a support ticket in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The technical team will evaluate it in more depth and provide the best troubleshooting steps for your case.

For further instructions, you can follow this guide: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

I hope these suggestions help. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please let us know. We're always here to help!
