Just about had a heart attack when I saw the charge for Microsoft Security Copilot, it wasn't clear on initial setup it would be that expensive. While it did say the cost per hour, it did not expand on that saying it would be running 24/7, not just when we were using agents. I've tried submitting tickets and refund request in Azure, but for whatever reason it just keeps dropping me to the same FAQ type page. Who can I talk to about this charge?

If you are experiencing unexpected charges for Microsoft Security Copilot, it is important to understand that Security Copilot is billed based on Security Compute Units (SCUs), which are charged hourly and can lead to costs accumulating if they are provisioned continuously. Unfortunately, Security Copilot does not support refunds or transfers of resources across tenants or subscriptions, and if you are having trouble with support tickets, it may be best to contact your Microsoft account manager directly for assistance with billing issues.

You can also utilize the SCU capacity calculator to better estimate your usage and costs moving forward. If you need further help, reaching out to Microsoft support through their official channels would be advisable.

    Hello Sean Thomas,

It sounds like you're seeing unexpected charge for Microsoft Security Copilot that you weren't fully aware of during setup. While the cost was mentioned per hour, as you've noted, it seems like there may not have been enough information about how that adds up when the service runs continuously.

Microsoft Security Copilot pricing is based on SCUs. You’re charged for the provisioned SCUs that support regular workloads on a monthly basis, and there's also an overage charge for any additional SCUs used. This means if you have SCUs running continuously, you will indeed be billed for that entire time.

    • Select the Issue type as Billing and, select the summary, problem type and problem subtype as below > click on the Next__.__ User's image
    • Do not click on request a refund or any recommendation solution/article, instead click on the Return to support request then click Next. retun AP
    • Fill out all the required information and provide a clear description of your issue and click Next.
    • Review and create as submit the support request
    • You should receive an automated email within a few minutes and then be contacted by support team.
