After the last auto update my Edge has completely disappeared off my computer even though it says in apps that it is installed. I've tried to restore to a point prior to the last update but it says it can't due to a anti virus program and I can't find how to turn those off

    Hi Karen Shultz,

Thanks for posting. If Edge disappeared after an update but still shows as installed, the issue is likely with the shortcut or system files. First, try launching Edge by pressing Windows + R, typing msedge.exe, and hitting Enter.

Second, if that works, recreate the shortcut by right-clicking the executable in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and selecting Pin to Taskbar.

Third, if Edge doesn’t open, repair it via Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair.

Last, if System Restore fails due to antivirus, temporarily disable real-time protection in Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Manage Settings, then retry. If nothing works, download the latest Edge installer from Microsoft’s official site and reinstall.

If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it too.

Go to All Apps and find Microsoft Edge. Right click on it and select More>Open file location. What happens, is the Edge file there?
