Unable to activate Azure Free Trial – Credit Card Verification Failing

I hope you are doing well. I am trying to activate my Azure Free Trial account, but the credit card verification continues to fail.

My card is a BMCI Visa Classic (Morocco). Online payments, international payments, and 3D Secure are all activated by my bank, and the card works correctly on other services (AWS, Google, etc.). However, Azure always returns the error:

"Check that the details in all fields are correct or try a different card."

I also tried multiple times in different browsers and incognito mode, and I receive the 3D Secure SMS from my bank each time, which confirms the card is active. It looks like Azure is blocking the verification or refusing Moroccan cards in general.

Could you please check my account and enable the verification manually, or confirm if BMCI Visa Classic is supported for Azure Free Trial activation?

Here are my details:

  • Microsoft account email: <PII Removed>@gmail.com

Country: Morocco

Bank: BMCI

Card type: Visa Classic

3D Secure: Enabled

Online & international payments: Enabled

Thank you very much for your assistance. I am a student working on a cloud/DevSecOps academic project, and I really need Azure access for my studies.

Best regards, El otmani Jihane

It seems that you are experiencing issues with credit card verification while trying to activate your Azure Free Trial account. According to the context provided, there are specific reasons why a credit card might be declined during the Azure sign-up process:

    1. Card Not Accepted for Your Country/Region: Azure may not support certain cards in specific countries. You should verify with your bank or card issuer whether your card is enabled for international transactions.
    2. Prepaid or Virtual Cards: Azure does not accept prepaid or virtual cards as payment methods. Ensure that your card is not categorized as such.
    3. Inaccurate or Incomplete Credit Information: Ensure that the name, address, and CVV code entered during the sign-up process match exactly what's printed on the card.
    4. Inactive or Blocked Card: Contact your bank to confirm that your card is active and not blocked.

Since you are using a BMCI Visa Classic card from Morocco, it is important to check if this specific card type is supported for Azure transactions. Unfortunately, the context does not provide explicit information about the acceptance of Moroccan cards. Therefore, I recommend contacting Azure support directly for assistance regarding your specific card and account situation.

Additionally, if you continue to face issues, consider trying a different card if possible or reaching out to your bank for further clarification on the card's compatibility with Azure services.
