I have a new phone and I really need MS Authenticator. I have enabled the cloud backup some years ago already. On th enew phone when I try restoring it I get "restoration was not successful. Check the internet connection and try again". This message is ridiculous because before restoring I had to send notification on MS authenticator on my old phone, so the internet is working obviously! I have send the report from help menu and included some log files. I hope one day maybe someone form MS will look at it. Meanwhile I want to ask if this is common problem maybe

It seems you are experiencing a common issue with restoring the Microsoft Authenticator app on your new phone. The error message "restoration was not successful. Check the internet connection and try again" can occur for several reasons, even if your internet connection is active. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Check Backup Status: Ensure that the cloud backup was successfully created on your old device. You can verify this by checking the backup settings in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your old phone.
    2. Update the App: Make sure that both the old and new devices have the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app installed. Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise from using outdated versions.
    3. Reboot Devices: Restart both your old and new phones. This can help clear temporary issues that might be affecting the restoration process.
    4. Network Issues: Although you mentioned the internet is working, try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Reattempt Restoration: After confirming the above, try the restoration process again. Make sure to follow the prompts carefully.

If the problem persists, it may be beneficial to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide more specific guidance based on your logs and reports.
