How do I add stock quote and ticker info in excel 2019. I've added data type to the ribbon but cant add stock or geography.

2025-11-14T22:08:22.7366667+00:00 Internet states that I can add stock and geography data types to Excel 2019. I've added data type to the ribbon, but how do I add the stock and geography option. They do not appear in the ribbon customization options.

The reason is that Excel 2019 doesn’t include these linked data types unless you have a Microsoft 365 subscription or sign in with a Microsoft account that enables online features. Even if the ribbon shows “Data Types,” the actual buttons won’t appear without that connection because they rely on cloud services. If you do have Microsoft 365, make sure you’re signed in, your Data tab is enabled under File > Options > Customize Ribbon, and your language is supported.
Restart Excel and confirm you have an active internet connection.
