Hello Microsoft Community,

I hope this message finds you well.

I need some support with my Authenticator app if possible. I initially had my Authenticator app with backup option up working smoothly however accidentally deleted the app, then it was rather difficult to get it up and running again but I managed to log back into all my accounts, but the option to backup is no longer available. I can successfully backup on my old iPhone 11 but for some reason the option for backup isn’t even available on my iPhone 15 Pro. I don’t know why that is and really want it to be working as I rely on Authenticator for several of my work and school, as well as personal accounts, and do not want the hassle of being locked out like this again. Especially since I may not always have a second device. Can you please help me with this?

Many thanks!

It seems that the backup option in the Microsoft Authenticator app may not be appearing on your new iPhone 15 Pro due to a few potential reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check iCloud Settings: Ensure that you are signed into iCloud on your iPhone 15 Pro and that iCloud Drive is enabled. The backup feature relies on iCloud to store your Authenticator data.
    2. Update the App: Make sure that the Microsoft Authenticator app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, features may not be available in older versions of the app.
    3. Reinstall the App: If the backup option is still not visible, try deleting the Authenticator app and reinstalling it. This can sometimes resolve issues related to app settings.
    4. Check Permissions: Ensure that the app has the necessary permissions to access iCloud. You can check this in the Settings under Privacy > iCloud.
    5. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide more specific guidance based on your account and device configuration.

It's important to have the backup feature enabled to avoid being locked out of your accounts in the future, so I recommend addressing this issue as soon as possible.
