To remove the old email accounts associated with your Microsoft Teams, you will need to manage the email aliases or accounts linked to your Microsoft account. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Remove Email Aliases: If the email addresses are set as aliases for your account, you can remove them by following these steps:
      • Go to the admin center and log in.
      • Search for the user account associated with the email addresses you want to remove.
      • Select Manage email aliases.
      • Choose the aliases you wish to remove and click the remove (wastebin) icon, then Save changes.
    2. Leave Organization: If the email accounts are part of a different organization, you can leave that organization:
      • Visit myapps.microsoft.com.
      • Sign in and select your profile initials.
      • Go to View account > Manage organizations > Leave organization.
      • Confirm by selecting Leave > OK.

Make sure you are logged in with the correct account (your Gmail account) to avoid deleting it accidentally. If you encounter any issues, consider reaching out to your organization's admin for assistance.

    Hello Sofia,

Thank you for reaching out about the issue with removing old email accounts from Microsoft Teams. I understand how frustrating it can be when you want to keep your preferred Gmail account active while removing others that are no longer needed. This situation often occurs because Teams and other Microsoft services link accounts through your Microsoft identity which can include multiple aliases or organizational associations.

To resolve this instead of managing aliases directly you can update the sign-in preferences and clear cached credentials to ensure Teams only uses your Gmail account. First sign out of Teams completely and clear the app cache. Then go to Settings select Accounts select Email & accounts on your device and remove any work or school accounts you no longer use. After that sign in to Teams using only your Gmail account if these accounts are tied to an organization you may also need to leave that organization through myapps.microsoft.com under Manage organizations. This approach ensures your Gmail remains intact while removing unwanted accounts.

Could you confirm if these old accounts are linked to an organization or just added as aliases?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
