Hi all,

Our Exchange 2010 server has a 6 GB edb that is dismounted, and no longer used.

The servers purpose is to hold the Exchange attributes of our users for Hybrid mode.

Questions:

1) What service(s) can I stop so the logging stops? (E00000xxxx.log - archived transactions - 1 MB log created every 2 minutes - 10s of thousands)

2) Will MS every come up with a solution so the 'last exchange server' can be retired, as the user email attributes can be migrated to O365?

Thanks very much

Andy

1} Enable Circular Logging. Dismount and remount the database - problem solved :)

2} They are still working on it. Hopefully soon! Its been promised for years as you know.

    Update:

Proceeded to SHF DEL some of the log files and something strange happened...almost all the log files were gone...I only selected 300 of them.

Either way the drive has space, the db won't mount due to mapi error, and no more logging occurs.

This is fine...we do not use the db anyways.

    Thank you
