Hi @Cristian Sacristán,

The problem is not that ACE is missing, it’s a 32-bit vs 64-bit conflict.

You have ACE 2010 (32-bit) and ACE 2016 installed together, while the SQL Import/Export Wizard runs in 64-bit. Because of this mismatch, SQL cannot load Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0.

Fix (Recommended)

  1. Uninstall Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010
  2. Keep Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 (64-bit) only
  3. Restart SSMS
  4. Run the Import/Export Wizard again

Now save the Excel file as CSV and import it no ACE driver required.

Thanks,
Akhil.

    Hi @Cristian Sacristán,

    English:

The error appears because the ACE OLEDB driver is not installed.

    1. Install Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 (same bit-version as your SQL/SSMS):
      64-bit → AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe,
      32-bit → AccessDatabaseEngine.exe
    2. Restart SSMS.
    3. Try the import again.

Save the Excel file as CSV and import it no OLEDB driver needed.

    Thanks,
    Akhil.
