Hi, After installing the 2025-11 Security Update (KB5068861) (26200.7171), my laptop’s battery got stuck at 99%, and it instantly shuts down as soon as the power is unplugged.

I tried uninstalling the update, but the issue did not go away. The laptop works normally when connected to AC power, but the battery is stuck at 99% and charging, but can’t power the device at all.

I’ve checked the basics like restarting, power cycle, reinstalling battery drivers, battery report and even checked the battery if it's swollen, but nothing has helped so far. The battery's full capacity is lower than the designed capacity but it has been at the same

Has anyone else experienced this after the KB5068861 update, or know of any possible fixes?

Thanks!

It seems that you are experiencing a common issue that can occur after a Windows update, particularly related to battery management. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Battery Calibration: Sometimes, the battery's calibration can be off. You can try fully charging the battery to 100%, then unplugging it and letting it discharge completely until the laptop shuts down. After that, charge it back to 100% without interruption.
    2. Check Battery Health: Since you mentioned that the battery's full capacity is lower than the designed capacity, it might be worth checking the battery health using a battery report. You can generate a battery report by running powercfg /batteryreport in the Command Prompt.
    3. BIOS Update: Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop model. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with hardware after a Windows update.
    4. Power Settings: Ensure that your power settings are configured correctly. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options and check your settings.
    5. Windows Update Troubleshooter: You can also run the Windows Update troubleshooter to see if it identifies any issues related to the recent update.
    6. System Restore: If the issue persists, consider performing a system restore to a point before the update was installed, if you have restore points enabled.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact your laptop manufacturer for further assistance or consider replacing the battery if it is indeed failing.

ZenBook UX325EA battery doesn't provide backup after security update.

Not entirely sure if the 2025-11 Security Update (KB5068861) (26200.7171) is the issue but I started experiencing the same issue after this security update. It was working fine in the night and the next morning when I wanted to turn the laptop on without the plugging it in, it won't turn on without a power cable. In the beginning just plugging the power cable in would start the laptop but now that doesn't happen but the battery charging port does sometime get me into trouble. If I plug in another device to charge another devide via another USB-C port, sometimes the laptop would automatically shut down. Consistently, when I plug in the charger, the power button flashes light and then goes off, doesn't turn on in case I try to do it. I wait for several seconds and ones the power button light goes off I press it to turn on the laptop (ZenBook UX325EA).

Visited the servie center and they suggested leaving the laptop with them so that they can diagnose the problem. Seeing the battery report they said that battery itself could be the problem. But I think even at 25% of battery design capacity it should give some backup but at the moment the battery is stuck at 99% and the icon is green colored instead of white and once the power plug is removed the laptop instantly turns off. MyAsus app diagnostic doesn't show any battery health concerns.

The battery is not detachable so it would need an experienced professional to get access to it. However, the service center has cautioned that in 5-10% of the cases the Asus laptop can end of dead if opened. So, I am looking for any tips that I could find online from someone who knows what's going on and can suggest best possible solution.

    Thanks in advance.
