Windows 11 Printer Driver. I have a Samsung SCX4826 printer. Samsung printers were bought by HP and no driver exists for my old printer. I work with my new Windows 11 PC but use my old Windows 10 pc to print, I've tried contacting HP and Samsung with no luck. Suggestions and solutions welcomed!

To find a compatible printer driver for your Samsung SCX4826 printer on Windows 11, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Windows Update: Sometimes, Windows Update may have a compatible driver for older printers. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
    2. Use Compatibility Mode: If you have the driver for Windows 10, you can try installing it in compatibility mode. Right-click the driver setup file, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and check Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 10.
    3. Generic Drivers: If no specific driver exists, you might be able to use a generic printer driver. You can try adding the printer as a generic PCL or PostScript printer. In the Add Printer wizard, select Generic and then choose either Generic Text Only or Generic PCL.
    4. Contact HP Support: Since HP now owns Samsung's printer division, they may have updated drivers or support for your printer model. It might be worth reaching out again or checking their support website for any new information.
    5. Third-Party Driver Websites: Sometimes, third-party websites host drivers for older printers. Make sure to download from reputable sites to avoid malware.
    6. Community Forums: Check forums or communities related to printers, as other users may have found solutions for similar issues.

If these steps do not yield results, you may need to consider upgrading to a newer printer that has full support for Windows 11.

Windows 11 is not as compatible with older printers as previous versions of Windows like Windows 10 was, try installing the Universal Print Driver HP provide on this link to test if that will get the printer working, if not, seeing as HP now support the Samsung printers, download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store to test if that will get the printer working.
