as usual the AI solution is everything that is tried. all useless and telling ya have to check for bugs online. With other words Microsoft says find out yourself we only give products out that screw up with in a few days without a solution for a sudden problem while it was working the night before (without any changes on my part!
external monitor not getting tecognized
I have the win11 home edition on my laptop (not even a week old) Since i have a hard time with small screen i have a external monitor connected with a HDMI cable.
Sofar everything good .
Till this morning ! Now i have to choose or the external monitor or the laptop screen, if i set it for both the screen as duplicate it keeps flashing barely time to set it back to 1 screen only #1 or #2 .
When i set it as extended the external monito shows taskbar and background and have to do everything on the laptop
Everything is updated to the latest versions, i even restarted every time i made a change to try to get it working on Duplicate.
So there is a windows 11 home bug i tried everything i found online about this issue and reverted it every time something did not work.
So anyone around that has the Solution ?

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how annoying it can be when your external monitor just quits working right after it was fine before.
Based on my knowledge, this happens because of problems with the display driver, the wrong refresh rate, or some kind of hardware issue that crops up after updates or restarts. Windows 11 Home lets you copy or extend your display, but if things start flashing when you try to copy the display, it probably means the resolution or refresh rate doesn't match between your laptop and the monitor.
Please follow these steps.
Go to Settings > System > Display, pick the external monitor, and see what the resolution and refresh rate are under Advanced display settings. Make sure both screens are using settings that work well together (like 60Hz). Update or reinstall your graphics driver by going to Device Manager > Display adapters > Update driver, or grab the newest driver from your laptop maker's website. If it still isn't working, unplug the HDMI cable, restart your laptop, and plug the monitor back in. You could also try a different HDMI cable or port to make sure it's not a hardware problem.
May I also ask if you've checked the refresh rate and resolution for both screens? This will help us figure out if the problem is with the driver or the hardware.
I hope this answer is helpful, if you have any questions, feel free to reply.
Best Regards,
Noel
