I just got my computer on wednesday. I couldn't connect to the desktop we use for our accounting software. Contacted microsoft tech support. They worked for 1 1/2 hours and finally said my brand new computer had corrupt windows files. And to reinstall windows with an ISO file they downloaded to my computer. I ran the file, and now my brand new laptop (3 days old Lenovo Slim I7 32 gb ram, 1 tb ssd) is a BRICK! It is stuck in bit locker recovery mode. Went to support again and did power flush, attempted top do windows roll back, the recovery point support created is not there, and everything to do brings me back to bit locker recovery. Meanwhile, my old laptop can no longer connect to the desk top either!! What is going on with Windows?

Hello Pure Electric, thanks for posting this in our community.

Your system is stuck in BitLocker Recovery Mode because the Windows reinstall process likely altered the boot configuration or encryption keys. BitLocker sees this as a security risk and requires the recovery key.

To resolve this, first retrieve your BitLocker Recovery Key. Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery Key page from another device, sign in with the same Microsoft account linked to the laptop, and locate the recovery key for your device. Enter it when prompted.

If you cannot find the BitLocker key, you will need to perform a clean install of Windows. Download the official Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft Software Download page, use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB, then boot from the USB. Choose Custom Install, delete all partitions, and install Windows fresh.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
