Cosmetic Device Issues

Hi!

I bought my Microsoft Surface Pro in August, and have already started noticing major cosmetic issues. The paint at the back of my laptop has started to rub off entirely, turning the black exterior white, despite my careful use. I even used a laptop sleeve to ensure the laptop would not get damaged.

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this laptop, especially considering the price I paid. The laptop looks cheap and damaged, and I've only had it for a couple months. I expected premium quality, but it seems I was mistaken.

Who should I contact to resolve this issue? Is there anyone specific I should talk to?

Thanks.

To address the cosmetic issues with your Microsoft Surface Pro, you should contact Microsoft Support. Since your device is still within the warranty period, you can open a service request through the Surface Support Portal. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Navigate to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. In the left-hand navigation menu, select Support.
    3. Under Support, select Microsoft Surface support.
    4. On the Microsoft Surface support Overview tab, select Create support request.
    5. Provide a detailed description of the cosmetic issue you are experiencing.
    6. Follow the instructions to submit your request.

If you are using a personal device, you can also sign into your account at https://account.microsoft.com/devices, choose your device, and select Start order for service.

It's important to document your issue clearly to expedite the support process.

Since your device is only a few months old (bought in August), you are well within warranty.

You should contact Microsoft Surface Support directly.

    Visit support.microsoft.com/devices

Sign in with your Microsoft account

Select your Surface Pro > Warranty & Services and proceed accordingly.
