Guys I hope you're doing super well.

I'm looking for help to understand why I can't link my Outlook with Power Query.

I'd like to get information from my emails to Excel via Power Query. I'm using a Microsoft personal account.

In excel: Data > Get Data > From other sources > From Microsoft Exchange

I'm trying with the "Exchange account" option and "Microsoft account" option but both throw errors.

For Exchange account: I put my email and password and it says: "We couldn't authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again.

For Microsoft account: I click Sign-in > Select my Microsoft account It ways this:

**WAM Error Error Code: 2156265475 Error Message: ApiContractViolation WAM Error Message: (pii) Internal Error Code: 557973634 Possible causes:

Invalid redirect uri – ensure you have configured the following url in the application registration in Azure Portal: ms-appx-web://microsoft.aad.brokerplugin/a672d62c-fc7b-4e81-a576-e60dc46e951d

If you continue to see this error, try disabling the enhanced sign-in experience in the Options dialog, under the Security pane.**

There is another option which is Data > Get Data > From online services> From Microsoft Exchange Online But I end up with the same result.

I'm trying to exhaust all my resources to get this done. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.

If this is not possible with a personal account, please let me know. I've suffered enough.

Thank you!!!

It seems that you're experiencing issues connecting Power Query to Microsoft Exchange using your personal Microsoft account. Here are some points to consider:

    1. Authentication Issues: The error message "We couldn't authenticate with the credentials provided" indicates that there might be a problem with the credentials you're using. Ensure that your email and password are correct. If you're using two-factor authentication, you may need to generate an app password specifically for Power Query.
    2. WAM Error: The WAM (Windows Authentication Manager) error you're encountering suggests there might be a configuration issue with the application registration in the Azure Portal. This typically applies to organizational accounts rather than personal accounts. Unfortunately, personal Microsoft accounts may not support some of the advanced authentication features required for this connection.
    3. Using Exchange Online: The option to connect via "Data > Get Data > From online services > From Microsoft Exchange Online" should work if you have a valid Microsoft 365 subscription. However, if your account is a personal account rather than a business account, this may not be supported.
    4. Personal Account Limitations: If you are using a personal Microsoft account, it may have limitations compared to a business account regarding accessing Exchange data through Power Query. If possible, consider using a Microsoft 365 business account for better compatibility.
    5. Enhanced Sign-in Experience: As suggested in the error message, you can try disabling the enhanced sign-in experience in Excel's Options under the Security pane. This might help resolve the authentication issue.

If you've exhausted these options and still can't connect, it may be worth reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
