I am trying to get rid of these swipe gestures, and have disabled the setting in microsoft edge settings. No matter what website i am on, when ever i hold right click and drag my mouse around, it starts drawing and interprets it into swipe gestures. I use a wired external mouse and the software has no such settings that would cause this, at least that i have seen since there arent really a lot of settings, and nothing in windows settings either

    Hi,

Have you checked whether the same thing happens in a different browser? If it doesn’t, then it’s likely a setting in Microsoft Edge. Open edge://settings/appearance/browserBehavior/mouseGestures and make sure the mouse gesture option is turned off.

If it’s already turned off, could you share a screenshot of the gesture that appears on your screen? I might be able to tell if it’s coming from a different app.

It sounds like the issue you're experiencing with swipe gestures when holding the right-click and dragging your mouse may be related to the touchpad settings or gesture configurations in Windows. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Touchpad Settings: If you are using a laptop with a touchpad, check the touchpad settings in Windows. Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and look for any gesture settings that might be enabled, particularly those related to swipe gestures.
    2. Disable Gestures in Registry: If the issue persists, you might want to check the registry settings for touchpad gestures. You can navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PrecisionTouchPad and look for any gesture configurations that can be adjusted or disabled. However, be cautious when editing the registry.
    3. Update Mouse Drivers: Ensure that your mouse drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause unexpected behavior.
    4. Test with a Different Mouse: If possible, try using a different wired mouse to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the mouse itself.
    5. Check for Software Conflicts: Some software applications can interfere with mouse behavior. Ensure that there are no third-party applications running that might be causing this issue.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, it may be worth reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
