The absence of the Microsoft Power BI Administrator role in your Azure portal or Microsoft 365 Admin Center could be due to several reasons:

    1. Role Availability: The Power BI Administrator role may not be available in your specific Microsoft 365 subscription. Ensure that your subscription includes access to Power BI and its administrative roles.
    2. Permissions: You need to have the appropriate permissions to view and assign admin roles. If you are not a global admin or do not have sufficient privileges, you may not see all available roles.
    3. Portal Updates: Sometimes, the Azure portal or Microsoft 365 Admin Center may not reflect all roles due to updates or changes in the service. It's worth checking back later or refreshing the portal.

To resolve this issue, you can:

    • Verify your subscription type and ensure it supports the Power BI Administrator role.
    • Check if you have the necessary permissions to view and manage admin roles.
    • If you are a global admin and still cannot see the role, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

I am already assigned as a Global Admin, Tenant Admin, and have Owner permissions in Azure. All other roles and options are visible in both portals, except for the Power BI Administrator role, which is still not appearing.

    Hello @Zeeshan Akram

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

I understand that this situation is confusing for you. I have looked into it and found that the reason you don’t see the Power BI Administrator role in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center is because Microsoft has renamed and consolidated roles under Microsoft Fabric. The Power BI Service Administrator role is now called Fabric Administrator.

    • Microsoft transitioned Power BI into the Fabric ecosystem, so the old role name no longer appears in the Admin Portal.
    • You will need to assign the Fabric Administrator role instead of Power BI Administrator

Microsoft Fabric admins work mostly in the Microsoft Fabric admin portal.
