Our company is aiming to achieve Solutions Partners for Security partnership with Microsoft, and to do so, we have go through a certification path that includes three different steps, being step one (Azure Security Engineer Associate), step two (Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) and step three is one of the four certifications (Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect expert, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, Microsoft Information Protection Administrator and Microsoft Certified:Information Security Administrator Associate).

After reading the Intermediate certifications metric session, we understood that the maximum number of points we can achieve by taking the certifications is 40 and that only the Step 3 adds points, although the steps one and two are required. We also understood that we need to have at least two people certified in step one and two people certified in step two and if those four people also go to step 3, we would earn 6,7 x 4 points. As we can go all the way up go 40 points, we could still have two more people certified in step 3. Ou doubt is if these two last people must complete either step one or step two or if they can go straight to step 3.

To achieve the Solutions Partner for Security designation, you must complete steps one and two with at least two individuals certified in each. For step three, while those individuals can also complete it, there is no requirement for additional individuals to have completed steps one or two before they can pursue step three. Therefore, the two additional people you mentioned can go straight to step three without needing to complete steps one or two first.

This means you can have a total of four individuals certified in step three, which would allow you to earn additional points beyond the initial 40 points you calculated.
