Hello,
I have teams channel which is shared with 2 peoples. Within that channel I have a folder which I want to share with many people. Do they need permission to view the channel also? By sharing the folder does it give them access to the channel which I want to stay private?

Hi Amy,
Every folder in teams is managed by SharePoint. You can open the folder in SharePoint and give access to the people in SharePoint. By doing that they will have access to the files in the folder not to your channel.
