It looks like you're creating a form. Forms work best in Word when you use tables. Place the heading in one cell with no borders, then in the cell to the right, format it with only a bottom border. Here's my article on this, please see sections 3 and 4: 5 Word Formatting Mistakes - Best Practices
Lines moving while typing
Hello,
Would like to know how to lock lines on a Word document. So, when typing the lines aren't moving and needing to be deleted for the extra spaces added. The lines are already pre-defined.
Name: ________
Line moves while typing. Would like to freeze the line so it doesn't move while typing.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thank you

FreezeLayoutmethod. This method fixes the layout of the document in Web view, ensuring that line breaks remain fixed and ink annotations do not move when you resize the window. Here’s how you can implement it:
public void FreezeLayout();By calling this method, you can prevent the lines from moving as you type, which should help with the issue you're experiencing with extra spaces being added and needing to delete them.
