I keep getting an error message about my storage being full. However, I have 1 TB of storage and I'm not even close to that. I have only used 112 GB of storage. HELP ME!

Nothing works. No person to talk to. This is a MAJOR bug or error that MANY people are having and you route us to 3 hour on hold BS places and phone numbers that hang up on us and log our number to hang up automatically. What is this? What am I paying for? I'm getting the Personal vault 3 file error and storage limitation error, when there is none. This has taken more time than I care to share.

If you're receiving an error message indicating that your OneDrive storage is full despite having only used 112 GB of your 1 TB limit, there are a few potential causes and solutions to consider:

    1. Check Storage State: Sometimes, the storage state might not reflect the actual usage correctly. You can check the storage state in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to confirm if it shows as "Full" or "Over limit" despite your actual usage.
    2. Temporary Files: Ensure that there are no temporary files or files in the Recycle Bin that are still counted against your storage quota. Deleting these can free up space.
    3. Sync Issues: There might be configuration issues with the OneDrive sync app. You can try unlinking and relinking your OneDrive account or resetting the OneDrive app to resolve these issues.
    4. Account Suspension: Check if your account has been suspended, which can also lead to storage access issues.
    5. Storage Limits: Review if there are any specific storage limits set for your account that might be affecting your ability to use the available space.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out and explaining what’s going on. Have you had a chance to check your OneDrive storage details online to see what’s taking up space, including the recycle bin and any shared or backup folders? Sometimes the issue isn’t the actual files you see but hidden items like deleted files, PC backups, or even cached data.

OneDrive can show “storage full” for a few reasons: files in the recycle bin still count toward your quota, items in your Personal Vault or shared folders add up, PC folder backup might be syncing large folders, and occasionally, sync errors or ghost files cause incorrect usage reports.

To fix this, start by clearing the recycle bin in OneDrive online (web) and check your storage breakdown to confirm what’s using space. If you don’t need PC folder backup, you can turn it off in OneDrive settings under Backup. Clearing the OneDrive cache and signing out and back in can also refresh the storage info.

I hope this helps clear things up. If you need more guidance, feel free to reply.

    Regards,

    Edward
