Email Inbox does not automatically load

My inbox does not automatically load new messages. Using "send receive all folders" also does not work. I have to close Outlook and reopen each time to receive new messages.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. 

    Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand how inconvenient it can be when new messages don’t appear automatically in your inbox. The issue is often related to Outlook’s Send/Receive settings.  

    Here are some steps you can try: 

    Method 1. Update Outlook 

    1. Open Outlook and navigate to the file menu.  User's image
    2. Click on Office Account and press on Update options. User's image
    3. Tap on Update Now to get a newer version of Outlook.  User's image

    Method 2. Clear Outlook cache 

    1. Close Outlook. 
    2. Navigate to: C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook 
    3. Delete the cache file to refresh Outlook performance. 

    Method 3. Disable cached exchange mode 

    1. Go to file and click on Account Settings.  User's image
    2. Press on Account Settings in the drop down menu. 
    3. Now, choose your email account and hit on Change.  User's image
    4. Uncheck use Cached Exchange Mode. 
    5. Relaunch Outlook to see error fix Outlook not Downloading Emails. 

    Method 4. Repair Outlook data file 

    1. Press Win+R and locate path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\ScanPST.exe  User's image
    2. Select your PST file and check on Make backup of scanned file before repairing then press Repair to solve Outlook not Downloading Emails.  User's image

    Method 5. Disable Add-ins 

    1. Press Window+R and type Outlook.exe /safe and hit on Ok button to open Outlook in Safe Mode.  User's image
    2. Go to file and click on options in the list and navigate to Add-ins in the list and choose COM-Add-ins and click on Go.  User's image
    3. Disable unnecessary and suspicious add-ins.  User's image

    Method 6. Review Email Rules and Block Senders 

    1. Go to Home and click on Rules. 
    2. Press on Manage Rules and Alerts and make sure no rules are redirecting, deleting or hiding your emails. 

    Method 7. Manually Send/Receive Emails 

    • Click on Send/Receive and hit on Send/Receive all folders to force Outlook to update new emails.  User's image
