my entire IT department (aside from Global Admins) are unable to disable accounts or update business phone number. We have already double checked the permissions are correct and the issue started suddenly without anything changing.

Hi, yes this is in Entra Admin Center (Entra ID, formerly AzureAD). I am the IT Administrator. I'm trying to figure out why this is happening. Nothing was changed in terms of permissions

    Hi Sami,

Thank you for responding and sharing all of this information the error that you are getting still triggers the Insufficient privileges, lack of necessary permission to disable this user.

Is this happening only to one user account?

Please double check if your account has the permission / privelleges from Entra ID to update the status of a user like disable, remove or add.

Have you reported this to your Global Admin?
