How to make PowerPivot Case Sensitive

In SAP we have more than 30 tables using the field MATID that is needed to connect them to retrieve data. these are 22 Char long fields looking like this LyyRf{JY7j{5yA90GdFL1W. When we have another material it can have MATID LyyRf{JY7j{5yA90GdfL1W and now I have a double value. Cleaning this manually (I add my name behind the value with the Caps F also to find them back easy) is a lot of work. Is there a better easy way to deal with this issue?

    Hello @Jaap van Neerven,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

For your situation, please take note this point:

PowerPivot currently does not have an option to enable case-sensitive matching.

I agree with you that manually adjusting values is very time-consuming, especially when you have a large volume of data.

When I researched this, I found that there are some workarounds that might help, such as using Power Query to create a case-sensitive dimension table and surrogate keys before loading data into the Data Model.

However, I hope you understand that working with such advanced transformations is outside the standard support scope, and I have limited ability to fully test this in my environment.

If you would like to explore a workaround or need deeper technical guidance, I highly recommend posting your question on:
