I have a Canon Pixma TR8622a that I have been using for months. I tried to print something and it wouldn't connect. I deleted the printer and tried to reinstall but got the message that it could not find the driver. When I attempt to download it from Canon, I get an error saying it is not compatible. After some research, I found that there are issues with ARM processors, which is what I have. My computer is an ASUS ProArt. I called Canon Support and they said that I had to call Microsoft.

It is the responsibility of the printer manufacturer to provide the drivers for their printers, Windows does contain printer drivers for some models, the problem you are experiencing is you have an ARM processor, and Windows does not contain printer drivers for ARM systems, because normal drivers cannot be installed on an ARM device.

If Canon do not provide drivers compatible with ARM systems, try downloading the Canon Print app from the Microsoft Store to see if that can install a generic Canon driver and if it will get your printer working.

It sounds like you're experiencing compatibility issues with your Canon Pixma TR8622a printer driver on your ASUS ProArt computer, which has an ARM processor. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Windows Compatibility: Ensure that the driver you are trying to download is compatible with the ARM architecture of your computer. Some drivers may not support ARM processors, which could be causing the compatibility error.
    2. Visit the Windows Update: Sometimes, Windows Update includes drivers that are compatible with your hardware. Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. This may provide a compatible driver.
    3. Use Canon's Support Resources: Since you mentioned that Canon Support directed you to Microsoft, you might want to check Canon's official website for any specific drivers or updates for ARM processors. They may have beta drivers or alternative solutions available.
    4. Try Generic Drivers: If you can't find a specific driver for your printer model, consider using a generic printer driver that supports basic printing functions. This can sometimes allow you to print even if the full functionality is not available.
    5. Reinstall the Printer: After checking for compatible drivers, try removing the printer from your system and reinstalling it. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and choose to remove it. Then, attempt to add it again.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may need to continue working with Canon or Microsoft support for further assistance.

I fixed it. I did Settings>Windows Updates >Advanced Options>Optional Updates. Thanks everyone for the advice.
