While traveling, my cell phone, registered with a Costa Rican service provider was stolen in the El Salvador airport. Now I am working in Nicaragua. I need to collect field data using Excel in my Android Tablet, but when I open Excel it tries to validate my ID. Among the validation methods I have no option for using an e-mail. All options available are cell phone dependent. If I try to install the Microsoft Authenticator I can't complete the installation process, as it requires my cell phone for validation.

How can I deactivate the two step verification method, or how can I use my e-mail for the same purpose.

Hey there, Rodolfo Jesús Vieto Morales

If this is a personal Microsoft account, and you have lost access to the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can try recovering your account when signing in here: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional

When you are trying to access your account, please click onto the option "I don't have access to the Authenticator app" where you should be able to choose other options to prove you are the account owner.

Once you have signed into the site, you will see an option to remove two step verification on the top of the page.

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan
