redeemed a code on microsoft for game, not showing on steam.

Question

I redeemed a code for a game on my microsoft account, and it shows as its redeemed when I try to redeem it again, but it wont sync to Steam.

Open Xbox app on Windows > Go to your library - the game should be there.

Unfortunately, a Microsoft/Xbox code won't work for Steam. The two versions are different.

You would need to purchase or redeem a separate Steam key for the game.

Steam and Microsoft operate as separate platforms, so redeemed Microsoft codes won’t sync or appear in your Steam library. If you’d like to play the game, please launch it through the Microsoft Store or Xbox app using the same account where you redeemed the code.
