    Dear Margret Bechert

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand you are having a problem with the New Outlook app not opening, even though you can access Outlook on the web. I am happy to assist you. Please try the following steps :

    1. End Outlook Processes
      • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), locate any Outlook.exe or related Office processes, select them, and click End Task.
    2. Repair or Reset New Outlook App
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, find Outlook (New), select Advanced Options, then choose Repair. If that fails, choose Reset.
    3. Update Windows and Office
      • Install all pending Windows updates. Open any Office app, go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    4. Reinstall or Repair WebView2 Runtime
    5. Sign Out and Sign Back In
      • If the app partially loads, go to Settings > Accounts, sign out, then sign back in with your Microsoft account.
    6. Disable Compatibility Mode
      • Right-click the Outlook shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab, ensure Run this program in compatibility mode is unchecked.
    7. Create a New Outlook Profile
      • Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles, click Add, create a new profile, and set it as default.
