Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

My name is Diego Loor and I am writing on behalf of my wife (Carolina Seminario) who has been unable to access her email account for more than 3 or 4 months because her account has been blocked. Unfortunately, the recovery email account she registered is from a job she left 8 years ago, and the domain no longer exists. We tried to contact the previous employer, and they told us they couldn't help.

We have filled out the Microsoft recovery form more than 10 or 15 times, and each time we are told that the information provided is not sufficient. We have included the last emails sent, the subject lines, and the email addresses, but nothing has worked yet. The account was created more than 20 years ago, and she does not remember the secret question or the cell phone number she registered at that time, as she was living in the USA (currently in Ecuador). She is truly desperate, as she has too much personal and work information that she cannot lose, but we do not have an email or phone number to contact.

We find it unbelievable that we have been unable to recover her account (******@hotmail.com) for more than 3 or 4 months. Hoping that someone here can truly help us.

Regards, Diego Loor. Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Recovering an account when the recovery email is no longer accessible can be challenging. Since your wife has filled out the Microsoft recovery form multiple times without success, here are some steps you can take:

    1. Confirm Account Information: Ensure that all the information provided in the recovery form is accurate. This includes any previous passwords, account creation details, and any other information that might help verify ownership.
    2. Use Alternate Recovery Options: If there are any alternate recovery options available, such as a phone number or security questions, try to utilize those. If she has access to any devices where she might still be logged in, that could also help.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: Since the recovery form has not yielded results, it may be beneficial to contact Microsoft Support directly. You can do this through the Microsoft 365 support page. They may require verification of identity and ownership of the account, so be prepared to provide any official documentation that can support your case.
    4. Check for Additional Resources: Sometimes, Microsoft provides specific recovery options for long-standing accounts. Look for any additional resources or support options that may be available for older accounts.
    5. Consider Professional Help: If the account contains critical information, you might want to consider seeking professional help from a tech support service that specializes in account recovery. They may have additional tools or methods to assist in the recovery process.

It’s important to remain patient and persistent, as account recovery processes can sometimes take time.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Aside from your wife's recovery email address, does she have other security information/verification methods, phone, or email address linked to her account?

Do you see any unfamiliar email addresses/phone numbers upon signing in to her account?

Did she have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account? If yes, does she still have the 25-character recovery codes?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

    Thank you for the information.

Since your wife has no access to any of the verification methods and she doesn't have the 25-character recovery codes for the 2FA, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm afraid there is no other option to recover the account.

The account recovery web form will not work if there is an active 2FA in the account.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
