out of control scrolling Windows 11 Pro

I know that this is a known issue with newer versions of Windows 11.

My husband's PC has updated to version 25H2 (installed 11/25/20205) from version 24H2 (installed in June), and now the mouse scrolling is a disaster. It is also acting most up in copy-paste - the paste just flashes briefly (into body of email I wanted to paste into) and then nothing. NOW it is also refusing to scroll correctly side to side!

I have done all the recommended "remedies", including mouse drivers (they are fine), settings, uninstalling mouse, reinstalling mouse, then whole NEW mouse and drivers.

I am about ready to try to return the PC to an earlier version of Windows to see if I can fix this issue. The PC was bought last year, and is a FLEXGRIN 23.8" FHD All-in-one desktop, Intel Celeron N5095 2.9GHZ, 8GB Ram, 512 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro.

Would appreciate any advice on returning to an old version and then NOT letting it update again!

It seems you are experiencing issues with mouse scrolling and copy-paste functionality after updating to Windows 11 version 25H2. This is a known problem that has been reported by other users as well. Here are some steps you can consider to address the situation:

    1. Rollback Windows Update: If you want to revert to a previous version of Windows, you can do so by going to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. From there, you should see an option to go back to the previous version of Windows. Note that this option is typically available for 10 days after an update.
    2. Prevent Future Updates: To stop Windows from updating automatically, you can pause updates temporarily. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Pause updates for 7 days. You can also adjust the active hours or use Group Policy Editor (if available) to manage update settings more strictly.
    3. Check for Known Issues: Keep an eye on Microsoft's official documentation for any updates regarding known issues with Windows 11 version 25H2. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches to resolve such problems.
    4. Alternative Solutions: If rolling back is not an option, you might want to explore third-party mouse management software or check for any firmware updates for your mouse that could improve compatibility with Windows 11.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
