Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I would like to request assistance in resetting the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings for my Microsoft Personal Account (MSA):

Account: [Moderation note: Personal information removed]@makitavn.com

This account has been invited as a guest user to another organization’s Microsoft Teams/Azure AD environment. The organization is unable to reset the MFA because this is a Microsoft Personal Account (MSA), not an Azure AD corporate account.

On my side, I also cannot change or recover the MFA method, because the personal account security portal does not display any MFA settings. As a result, I am unable to sign in because the system continues to prompt for MFA that I cannot access.

I kindly request Microsoft’s support to reset or remove the MFA requirement for this MSA account so that I can sign in again.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards, [Moderation note: Personal information removed] Phone:[Moderation note: Personal information removed] Email: [Moderation note: Personal information removed]@makitavn.com

    Hello Tri Le [IT-MVN BD],

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Q&A forum

Disclaimer: Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

In case of personal Microsoft accounts (MSA), Microsoft Support cannot directly disable or remove two‑step verification on your behalf. This is by design to protect account ownership. If 2SV/MFA is on and you don’t have any working verification method, recovery must go through the MSA recovery flow. You can refer to this site on how to recover account:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/help-with-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form-b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

You can also contact Microsoft Support for further assistance if recovery form doesn't work:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.
