My PC starts to install Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7344), but at the end, it uninstalls it and declares a failure. It retries the install and again fails. It has done this numerous times.

If your PC is repeatedly failing to install the Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7344), there are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check for Known Issues: Sometimes, specific updates may have known issues that can cause installation failures. You can check the Windows Insider Program's known issues page for any relevant notifications.
    2. Free Up Disk Space: Ensure that you have enough disk space available for the update. Insufficient space can lead to installation failures.
    3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows Update Troubleshooter to identify and fix problems related to Windows Update.
    4. Reset Windows Update Components: Sometimes, resetting the Windows Update components can resolve installation issues. You can do this through Command Prompt by running specific commands to stop and restart the Windows Update services.
    5. Perform a Clean Boot: Booting your PC in a clean state can help eliminate software conflicts that might be causing the installation to fail.
    6. Reinstall the Insider Preview Build: If the issue persists, consider downloading the latest Insider Preview ISO and performing a clean installation. This can help if there are corrupted files in your current installation.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to seek further assistance through the Windows Insider Program support channels.

    Hello David,

Do you have any 3rd part AV running?

Suggest you run "sfc /scannow" in an administrative command prompt without the quotes.

Suggest also deleting the SoftwareDistribution\Download folder and then trying WU once more.

This must be a large install. It has failed about 10 times to install.
