    Thanks for reaching out Ian,

I understand the frustration. If your friend uses a @yahoo.com address for his Microsoft account, he should first visit account.microsoft.com to verify he can log in. If successful, clear the browser cache or try logging in via the Xbox app or Minecraft launcher.

If he cannot log in, he should reset his password using the Forgot password link. Two-step verification may also be a problem.

Does he receive any error messages, or does the login page simply load continuously?

    Regards,

    Rez

To troubleshoot your friend's issue with signing into Minecraft using a Microsoft account, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Account Status: Ensure that the Microsoft account associated with the email address (******@yahoo.com) exists and is active. You can do this by signing in to the Microsoft Entra admin center and checking the user account status.
    2. Password Reset: If your friend cannot remember the password, they can reset it. They should select the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in page and follow the instructions to reset the password.
    3. Account Lockout: Verify that the account is not locked. If there have been multiple failed sign-in attempts, the account may be temporarily locked.
    4. Correct Sign-In URL: Ensure that your friend is using the correct URL to sign in to Minecraft and not a local application URL.
    5. Multifactor Authentication: If multifactor authentication is enabled, make sure that the authentication contact information is up to date to receive the verification code.
    6. Browser Issues: Sometimes, browser issues can prevent successful sign-in. Try clearing the browser cache or using a different browser or private browsing mode.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, your friend may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
