Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

This issue occurs when there is a corrupted system files on the PC. In this case, I recommend using Windows installation media on a USB to repair the issue. To do that, kindly follow the steps below:

Note: We need another PC and a USB drive (At least 8GB and make sure there are no files inside, as it will reformat the USB) Once you have that, kindly follow the steps:

Step 1: Create Windows 11 installation Media

    Go to this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Scroll down and under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" click "Download Now" then run the Media Creation Tool (the downloaded file)

If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.

On What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.

Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 11.

This table will help you decide which edition of Windows 11 you’ll choose:

On Select which media, you want to use, click USB, and save it to your USB drive.

Once done, do the repair kindly follow the steps below:

Insert the USB into the affected PC

Start the PC, and if you see “Press any key to boot from DVD,” do so. If you don’t see the message, you might need to change the boot order in your computer's BIOS settings so that it first starts from the DVD or USB.

When you see the Install Windows page, tap or click Repair your computer to start the Windows Recovery Environment.

In the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, tap or click Troubleshoot.

Tap or click, advanced options, and then click on Startup repair.

To address the issue with the error message related to C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\srt\SrtTrail.txt, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the Log File: The SrtTrail.txt log file can provide insights into what is causing the automatic repair failure. You can access this file by booting into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
    2. Disable Secure Boot: If the log indicates that a boot critical file is corrupt, you may need to disable Secure Boot from your BIOS/UEFI settings. This is necessary unless you are specifically running Secure Boot tests.
    3. Use Startup Repair: If you haven't already, try using the Startup Repair tool. You can access it by booting from Windows installation media:
      • Start the system with the installation media.
      • On the Install Windows screen, select Next > Repair your computer.
      • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
    4. Run System File Checker: If the problem persists, you can run the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. Boot into WinRE, open a command prompt, and run the command SFC /scannow.
    5. Check Disk Utility: You may also want to run the Check Disk utility to fix any disk errors. In the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
    6. Review Boot Configuration: If you continue to experience issues, there may be problems with the Boot Configuration Data (BCD). You can rebuild the BCD using the command bootrec /rebuildbcd in the command prompt.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with the automatic repair and the SrtTrail.txt error.
