    Hi Arthur,

The module CTL3D32.dll has been removed from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder starting with the September 2025 Windows 11 24H2 cumulative update, although the reason is not known.

You can find a copy of the module from the following Microsoft link:

    https://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols/ctl3d32.dll/3005CC7211000/ctl3d32.dll

To download it, open PowerShell (admin) and run this command:

    iwr "https://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols/ctl3d32.dll/3005CC7211000/ctl3d32.dll" -OutFile "C:\CTL3D32.dll"

After downloading it, copy the file C:\CTL3D32.dll to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory.

To resolve the issue of the missing CTL3D32.dll file in your Windows 11 system, you can try the following steps:

    1. Reinstall the Application: Sometimes, simply reinstalling the application that requires the DLL can restore the missing file. Uninstall Finale, then download the latest version from the official site and install it again.
    2. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Installing the latest updates may resolve compatibility issues.
    3. Use Dependency Walker: You can use the Dependency Walker tool to check for missing DLLs. This tool can help you identify if CTL3D32.dll is missing or if there are other dependencies that are not being met. You can find Dependency Walker in the Visual Studio installation directory or download it separately.
    4. Download the DLL: If the above steps do not work, you might consider downloading the CTL3D32.dll file from a reputable source. However, be cautious with this method as downloading DLLs from untrusted sources can pose security risks.
    5. Register the DLL: If you manage to obtain the CTL3D32.dll, you can register it using the command prompt. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and use the command regsvr32 CTL3D32.dll to register the DLL.
    6. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to the support team for Finale or checking their forums for additional help regarding this specific DLL issue.
