I need to see the "Original To:" that the email was sent to.

Question

I need to see the "Original To:" that the email was sent to. This is so that I cn know which of my email aliases the sender used to send the email to. Currently all I see is the email being sent to my primary email account. The only way to know now, is to View teh Email Source, whicch is very cumbersome for numerous emails received each day, plus the Email Source viewer in Outloof does not even have a Find feature.

Based on my testing, in Outlook for Android, the To field does show the alias email address when you expand the email header. However, this requires an extra step and can be inconvenient. At the moment, Outlook on Android does not display the full email address without expanding the header after opening the email. 

 From my testing, here’s an approach you can consider to better manage your mailbox: 

You can create an Outlook rule with the condition “Message header includes” and enter your alias in the value field. This rule can move messages to a dedicated folder for that alias or apply a category for easier organization. 

To create an Outlook rule: 

1. Sign in to Outlook on the web from your computer. 
2. Open Settings by clicking the gear icon near your avatar. 
3. Navigate to Mail > Rules > Create a rule similar to the example shown in the image below. 
4. You can also choose Run rule now to apply it to existing messages. 

If your alias represents a department or group, I highly recommend using a distribution list or Microsoft 365 group instead. This approach ensures messages show the specific email address while still allowing you to receive emails normally as a member of the group.

To see the "Original To:" address that an email was sent to in Outlook, you will need to configure Outlook to display the original sender and recipient information in the spam quarantine mailbox. Here are the steps you can follow for Outlook 2010 or later:

1. Open the spam quarantine mailbox in Outlook.
2. Click File > Options > Advanced.
3. In the Developers section, click Custom Forms.
4. Click Manage Forms in the dialog box that opens.
5. Click Install, browse to the location of the QTNE.cfg file, select it, and click Open. Review the information in the Form Properties dialog box and click OK to install the Quarantine Extension Form in your Personal Forms library.
6. Click Close in the Forms Manager dialog box, then click OK twice to return to the main Outlook interface.
7. In the Mail view of the Inbox, click View > Add columns.
8. In the Show Columns dialog box, select Forms from the drop-down list.
9. Remove the Message from the Selected Forms field and add Quarantine Extension Form from the Personal Forms field.
10. Select the following fields to add:
    • ReceivedRepresentingEmailAddress: Original sender
    • DisplayTo: Original recipient (this will appear as To after you add it)
    • OriginalScl: Original SCL
11. Position these fields appropriately and click OK twice to return to the main Outlook interface.

After completing these steps, you should be able to see the original recipient information, including the "Original To:" address for the emails in your quarantine mailbox.

I just tested by sending an email to an outlook.com alias. On my Outlook for Android it does show as just "To: You".

But if I touch the address section of the email, it expands to show the alias.

Do you not see this same behavior?

I can not find any way to make Outlook for Android always show the full "To" email address. I have to touch the address section of each email when I open it.
