I loose control of the apps while I am using that app. I have no control with my mouse. I worked on this issue about one day and then took my computer to Geek Squad. Geek Squad could not find the problem and returned my computer to me. I still lose control of my computer, and everything locks up. The only avenue of control is to exit and then wait and then reinter the app. Also, this problem began after an update on Tuesday of this week, today is 2/14/25. So, this behavior has been functioning since last Tuesday. I think the problem rests in the update becuase this problem began after the update.

It sounds like you are experiencing significant issues with your computer after a recent update, specifically related to Microsoft Edge. Based on the context provided, there are known issues with Microsoft Edge that may cause unexpected behavior, such as crashes or locking up.

Since you mentioned that the problem started after an update, it could be related to a specific version of Edge that has known issues. For instance, some users have reported crashes or unexpected behavior in certain versions of Edge.

Here are some steps you might consider:

    1. Rollback the Update: If possible, try rolling back the recent update to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Clear Cache and Data: Clearing the cache and data for Microsoft Edge might help alleviate some problems.
    3. Check for Edge Updates: Ensure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge, as updates often include bug fixes.
    4. Disable Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions can cause issues. Try disabling them to see if it improves stability.
    5. Reinstall Edge: If the problem persists, you may want to consider reinstalling Microsoft Edge.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult with Microsoft Support for further assistance.

Hello. Please try a clean boot. This is safe, temporary, and does not remove any files or apps.

Follow these steps slowly, in order:

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
    3. A window called System Configuration will open.
    4. Click the Services tab at the top.
    5. Check the box that says “Hide all Microsoft services”.
    6. Click the Disable all button.
    7. Now click the Startup tab.
    8. Click Open Task Manager.
    9. In the list you see, right-click each item and choose Disable (do this for all of them).
    10. Close Task Manager.
    11. Click OK, then restart the computer.

After the restart, use the computer normally and open Edge like you usually do.

This starts Windows with only essential parts running. If the freezing stops, then one of the background programs or drivers is causing the problem, which often happens after a Windows update.

Once you test this, let me know if the issue persists.
