Uninstalling the driver alone is not sufficient, as Windows setup may still detect leftover files or conflicts. The recommended solution is to completely remove the Nvidia drivers using the free Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) tool. Perform this process while offline to prevent Windows from automatically reinstalling the driver. Once the driver has been fully removed, attempt the upgrade again using offline USB media.

If the upgrade continues to fail, install the latest driver version directly from the Nvidia website for desktop systems, or from your computer manufacturer's support page if you're using a laptop.
