Good day all,

I am having an issue logging into my "******@xxxxx.onmicrosoft.com" account as the authenticator app is not sending notifications, and when i select send SMS it gives me an error code:
Error Code: 99287

Request Id: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

Correlation Id: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

Timestamp: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

I can't use the option Use verification code as again the authenticator app is not working. How do I regain access to my man account, can i remove the account from the Authenticator app and re-add it or do I uninstall the Authenticator app from my mobile and re-install that?

I need urgent help please as I need to copy over my OneDrive files and cannot access them currently.

Regards

Since this forum is a public platform, so we have modified your question to hide your personal for privacy. For future posts, kindly avoid sharing personal or organizational information to protect your data.

    Hello @Gareth Strachan

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

Could you please confirm if the error code you mentioned (99287) is correct, or if it might actually be 399287?

If it is 399287, this error during the two-factor authentication (2FA) process typically indicates that the phone number associated with your account has been flagged by Microsoft’s internal system (Phone Reputation), which prevents SMS or call verification from being sent.

To support you better, please clarify the following:

    1. Based on your email address, it appears to be a work account. Are you an administrator or a regular user in your organization?
    2. If you are an administrator, is there another admin who can access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center?

Each scenario will have different instructions, so to help you in the right direction, please provide me with this information.

Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to identify the root cause and find a solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi team,

Apologies for the late response, been away on holiday and only returned recently.

Please can you release my mobile number listed for my account so that the authenticator app can send the requests to my mobile again. I really need to log into my OneDrive to retrieve my files, and this is starting to affect my business the longer this is delayed.

Please treat this as urgent team!
Thanks for the assist thus far.

    Gareth
