I am using Windows 10.When I try to open Microsoft Word, I get this error message:

"Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application. A repair attempt was unsuccessful or was cancelled."

After clicking OK, Word closes automatically.

I already tried restarting the PC, but the issue still exists.

Please help me fix this license problem.

    Open Word.

At the top right, log out of Office.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into office, is your licence/subscription then recognised correctly.

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, do you find your Office licence or subscription listed there?

To resolve the issue where Microsoft Word cannot find your license and closes immediately, you can try the following steps:

    1. Repair Office: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features. Find Microsoft Office in the list, select it, and click on Change. Choose the Repair option and follow the prompts.
    2. Check Compatibility Mode: Sometimes, running the application in compatibility mode can cause issues. Right-click on the Word application (e.g., WINWORD.EXE), select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and ensure that the option Run this program in compatibility mode for is unchecked.
    3. Registry Check: Ensure that the software protection platform registry key is present. Open the Registry Editor (type regedit in the Start menu), and navigate to HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion. If the SoftwareProtectionPlatform value is missing, you may need to export it from another working machine and import it to your device.
    4. Reinstall Office: If the above steps do not work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Microsoft Office to ensure that all components are correctly installed.

After performing these steps, try to open Microsoft Word again to see if the issue is resolved.
