I just bought a New Dell Laptop from Walmart. It came with a 30day subscription to office 365. I already have a subscription to office 365 for my older laptop. How do I keep the 30 day subscription from asking for a new subscription ?

To keep your new 30-day subscription to Office 365 from asking for a new subscription, you can follow these steps:

    1. Use the same Microsoft account: Ensure that you are logged into the Office applications with the same Microsoft account that you used for your existing subscription. This way, the new subscription will be added to your existing account.
    2. Activate the new subscription: When prompted, activate the new 30-day subscription using the Microsoft account. This should extend your access without requiring a new subscription.
    3. Manage your subscriptions: You can manage your subscriptions through the Microsoft 365 admin center or your Microsoft account settings. This will allow you to see both subscriptions and ensure they are linked correctly.

If you encounter any issues, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

You don’t need to use or keep the 30-day trial at all if you already have a paid Microsoft 365 subscription.

    What I recommend is this:

    • Open any Office app on the new Dell laptop (Word or Excel is fine).
    • When prompted, sign in using the same Microsoft account that you use for your existing Microsoft 365 subscription.
    • Once signed in, Office should automatically recognize your active subscription and stop asking you to start or buy a new one.

If the trial is already activated and causing confusion, you can also:

    • Go to account.microsoft.com/services
    • Sign in with your Microsoft account
    • Make sure your paid subscription is active there

If you can see it there, please follow these steps below.

Before installing, it’s a good idea to uninstall all existing versions of Office to avoid conflicts.

    Here’s how:

    • Open the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Look for any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps, right-click, then choose Uninstall. Please uninstall all Office apps.
    • Once that’s done, restart your computer just to be safe.

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your subscription.
    • Find your Microsoft 365 subscription and click the "Install" button.
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" button still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
