    To update a phone number for two-step authentication in Microsoft Entra ID, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as at least an Authentication Administrator.
    2. Navigate to Entra ID > Users.
    3. Select the user for whom you want to update the phone number and go to Authentication methods.
    4. At the top of the window, select + Add authentication method.
    5. Choose Phone number from the method options.
    6. Enter the new phone number, including the country code, and select the appropriate phone type (Mobile, Alternate mobile, or Other).

    You can add or edit your own authentication methods in My Sign Ins | Security info. For example, to change the phone number, select Phone number and tap Change.

    Additionally, you can contact your IT admin to add or change authentication methods for you in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
