Aloha, Support Team,

I had started closing the account - ******@alltempmaui.com. I'm concerned that my ******@outlook.com will be closed accidently.

Please assist.

Mahalo,

To ensure that your @outlook.com account is not closed accidentally while you are closing your @alltempmaui.com account, it is important to follow the correct procedures for closing a Microsoft 365 subscription. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Verify Account Types: Make sure you understand the types of accounts you have. If you are closing a business account, ensure that you are only deleting the users associated with that account and not affecting your personal account.
    2. Delete Users Carefully: When closing your business account, delete all users except for your Global Administrator account. This will help prevent any accidental deletion of other accounts.
    3. Cancel Subscriptions: If you have multiple subscriptions, cancel only the one associated with the @alltempmaui.com account. Be cautious not to cancel the subscription linked to your @outlook.com account.
    4. Backup Data: Before proceeding with any deletions or cancellations, back up any important data from both accounts to avoid loss.
    5. Contact Support: If you are unsure or need further assistance, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for help with your specific situation.

By following these steps, you can minimize the risk of accidentally closing your @outlook.com account while managing your subscriptions.

    Hi Paul,

The accounts are never closed if you close the subscription, if that was your question. The first one is probably a Microsoft 365 for Work subscription, and the Outlook account is a personal subscription. Unless the former account is used as a personal account and the Outlook account has a 365 subscription, it would not cause any problems.

I hope you find this information useful. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, please take a moment to accept the answer. Wishing you good luck!
