Hello,

This may not be the appropriate place, but I am unable to find any other way to contact Microsoft. My personal account (<Mod remove PII> @hotmail.com) has been blocked because it needs to be verified. I have tried to do this, but unfortunately I keep receiving a message saying that I did not provide enough accurate information to prove that I am the rightful owner of the account after a password change.

I have been trying to resolve this for the past two days, but nothing works. Even the option to send a verification code to my phone number no longer works. In short, I am completely locked out of my own email account and cannot access it in any way.

On top of that, it seems impossible to contact Microsoft if you are unable to log in. All support options require you to sign in with your account, which is exactly the problem.

HELP! Can someone please explain how I can resolve this issue or how I can get in contact with Microsoft so they can assist me?

Kevin

    Hello, Kevin.

Quote: "...how I can get in contact with Microsoft so they can assist me?"

Log in to your MS account (the one that is not blocked, for example, through which you wrote a message on this forum) on the page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=www.microsoft.com

In the search bar, type (without quotes) "agent support" and press Enter or click on Get Help. Ignore the search results, and click on the "Contact Support" button at the bottom. On the next page, select "Windows" or "Microsoft 365 and Office" and "Technical Support" from the drop-down lists, and then click on "Confirm". Next, select the chat "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" and on the next page, enter your (the one that works) email address and click on "Confirm". A chat window will open in a new tab. Wait for the operator to respond and explain the situation to him.

Note. The chat is available during business hours and on business days according to US time.

If you are unable to verify your Microsoft account and have exhausted the available recovery options, here are some steps you can take:

    1. Account Recovery: Visit the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account. Make sure to provide as much accurate information as possible to help verify your identity.
    2. Alternative Verification: If you have access to any alternative recovery options (like a backup email or phone number), try using those to receive a verification code.
    3. Contact Support: Since you mentioned that you cannot access support without signing in, you can try reaching out to Microsoft support through their general support page. Look for options that allow you to contact them without needing to log in.
    4. Community Forums: You might also find help in the Microsoft Community forums where other users and Microsoft representatives may provide assistance.
    5. Wait and Retry: Sometimes, the verification system may have temporary issues. Waiting a bit and trying again later can sometimes resolve the problem.

If these steps do not help, you may need to persist in contacting Microsoft support through any available channels, even if it requires using a different Microsoft account or device to reach them.
